NMSE needs writers!
Greets! My name is Jibreel Rey Moreira, to be the group moderator of the Nihilista Metro Sociedad en Espanol. I’ve only read Journey to Ixtlan, so still just a pupil to Castaneda’s Toltec-shamanic philosophy, could anyone direct me in summarizing Don Juan’s nihilistic/Zen-like teachings? I’m also a reader of the Aztec gnostic Samael Aun Weor. For the NMSE I’m working on a philosophy that all Chicano’s can relate to, whether still Catholic or Mexica revivalists of the pre-Hispanic but eternal Ometeotl.
Well, here’s something for you to chew on. Don Juan did not teach nihilism or zen. He taught Castaneda to stop skimming. To stop taking shortcuts. If i might add, that’s what it seems you are doing when 1)asking for just a summary, 2)asking us when you know there are more books to read. Ask yourself, how attentive was i when reading Journey to Ixtlan? That book is chock full of action.
When i see all the philosophy books lined up nice and even in bookstores, i think:”Which one is right?” The teachings that Don Juan passed down are not philosophy, they are action. Philosophy is ‘thought’. And if i may be so blunt, So what makes you think that your philosophy will be worthwhile? (This is an honest question)
Very well said. 🙂
