Isn't doubt just an aspect of fear?

Ya, I remember reading something along the lines of; we all See, but choose not to remember what we See. That could mean that at 'a level' we all know the truth. Some of us choose to face the truth, we feel it deep down inside, but doing so makes one feel scared. Parts of us have to die in order to fully claim truth.

Incidentally, I disagree with DJÃ?  :o .Ã?   I think doubt is the first enemy!
Isn't doubt just an aspect of fear?
You may be right, enso±ar, but I don't get it. Can you provide an example of what you mean?

I was thinking more along the lines of this
When I was a Christian, I feared God because I believed in Him and the Bible.
Now that I am no longer a Christian, I no longer fear God. I dont believe in Him and doubt His existence (as presented in the Bible.)

Also, DJ seemed to spend a lot of effort attempting to convince CC that there is more to this world. And remember that time when CC, DJ & DG were in the house & DG let strange beings inside but CC couldnt see them because of his natural shields. In my opinion, CC couldnt see them because, in HIS reality, strange beings could not just walk right in.

On the other hand, DJ said that fear is the first enemy of a Man of Knowledge. I have not encountered real fear so that may be because I am not a Man of Knowledge yet, in other words, Im not on the path. Or maybe, as others have said, Im not acknowledging the fears I do have, like the fear of public speaking for instance.

I'm still not sure I understand what you mean OldDog. When you say doubt, as in "I doubt God's existence", do you also mean doubting the sorcerer's world as described in Carlos' books?

If so, I would consider that a fear of being duped. That's where believing without believing, or acting without expectations comes into play. Facing that fear would be acting for the hell of it.

Also, fear of public speaking is a REAL FEAR! One well worth facing I'd say.

I cant answer your question about doubting the sorcerers world because my answer would be too complicated and we would have to get into specifics and I would have to examine my feelings on each one but Carlos definitely did doubt many times and he often assumed DJ was being metaphorical.

In regards to your second statement ââ?¬â?? this topic deserves its own post.

I do believe that it is common to doubt without having fear as its shadow in the background. Remember fear is not the same as concern. Fear is a bonafide physical feeling.

This is an interesting thread. Clarity a mistake? Is sobriety a mistake? And what of the warrior? Here is what I mean :

On the one hand, I understand and envy the psychologist that gives up all his posessions and money, inserts himself into the lowest level of society and poverty, and studies this realm by experiencing it first hand.

One the other hand, do you remember when Don Juan said "A warrior is never drunk." What does he mean by that? I used to think that it meant, a warrior should not drink alcohol, because it puts you in a position where you are risking power by losing inhibitions. But, after a couple years of not drinking, I came back to this and realized that it meant something else.

Think about it.

Duh, I don't get it. Can you please spell it out for me?

Sobriety IMO is the clarity of mind brought about by the persistent deconstruction of beliefs so that knowledge will not contaminate our perception. We are drunk on our knowledge/beliefs.
