"A very profitable form of the exercise accessible to all of us is the fortuitous recapitulation. If you think about it, we are constantly recapitulating. All memories which conform to our internal dialogue can be called that. However, we evoke them in an involuntary way. Instead of stalking them in silence, we judge them and interact with them viscerally. That is pitiful. A warrior takes advantage of the opportunity, because those memories, seemingly random, are warnings from our silent side."

from "Encounters with the Nagual" by Armando Torres

Check out the book if you haven't already. This is the first I've heard of it, but it was written in 2004. It consists of notes from a student in CC's presence.

I can't begin to express my thanks. I feel like you've just handed me a new book by Castaneda... only one written directly about nagualism, rather than one about his experiences with don Juan.

I'm only a few chapters into it, but it seems extremely evident to me that this is the real deal.

So i grudgingly started reading it, as a not-doing. i think i've expressed on this forum how much i value people who write about nagualism other than Castaneda (not highly at all for those who don't know). i've read into the 4th chapter and i'm actually enjoying it. Maybe because it's clear that 1) it's Castaneda talking 2) it's notes/conversations from his lectures 3) the author hasn't gotten all preachy, thinking he has some new insight to exploit. So i'll keep reading it...hoping i won't be disappointed. thanks.

What is said immediately following that quote is another thing that I once heard at a Tensegrity workshop, which I've found incredibly useful.

Cita:He pointed out that to recapitulate, no special conditions are necessary. We can try the exercise any time, or any place; wherever we feel moved to do it.

"Warriors recapitulate when they are walking down the road, in the bathroom, when working, or when eating; whenever it is possible. The important thing is to do it."

He added that it takes no definite posture. The only requirement is to be comfortable so the physical body doesn't demand attention, or interfere with the memories.

"However, sorcerers take the exercise very seriously. Some use wooden boxes, raised sleeping platforms, closets, or caves. Others build a seat in the highest branches of a big tree; or dig a hole in the ground, and cover it with branches. A good practice is to recapitulate sitting on the bed, in darkness, before lying down to sleep. Any means that isolates us from the environment is good for formal recapitulation.

Hi:

Can somebody please help me? I don't seem to find reference to that book on the link and I would really like to get it.

Is there another link?

Obviously, I'm doing something wrong (chuckle, I'm stupid).

That link hasn't worked for a few months now. Guess they got caught infringing on copyright.

You can find it on a bittorrent site "thepiratebay.org"...You need to download a client like Vuze to get it, but it's pretty easy.

Bill,

I made a copy while it was still up. However, I only have up to midway through Section 9 in Part II. I must have accidentally deleted the rest.

I'm happy to send that to you, if you give me an email. I'd post it in a thread but I'm not sure, I don't want to put Ensonar's website in jeopardy by posting copyrighted material. After all, it is a pretty cool site.

3 cheers for Ensonar!

Thank you BratscheWarrior, but I was unable to download the client.......maybe because this is a company computer connected to the net via at least one firewall (that I know of). I downloaded the torrent file, but couldn't open it. Do you have any other suggestions?

Forfuckssake: Yes, I'd be very appreciative for whatever portion you may still have. my e-mail address is az.me......and then at @ sign..........hotmail........com (I'm avoiding posting an e-mail link for those crawlers and/or other internet imps, so please use your improvising skills to put my e-mail address in its correct format).

Thanks again folks,

Yeah Bill, my depth of knowledge with computers is a bit limited, but I would think that the firewall is preventing you from downloading. Probably best not to do it at work since the legality of bittorrents is in a grey area. Don't get your company involved I suppose. Try it at home, if it still doesn't work, I'll email it to you.

Cheers.

I highly recommend buying the actual book. I bought it from this website and received it promptly:

http://www.thenagualbook.com/

Looks like you can buy an e-book version from that site as well.
