How does Nagualism apply to modern life?

I read on the temezcal, How it has evolved to better suite us now in day. For example, the floors are made of concrete, and the entries are bigger in order to allow people in wheelchairs to pass easily.

Maybe Nagualism has not evolved and maybe there is no need for it to evolve, but how does the path adapt itself ? How do we adapt this life to modern time?

I cant understand the objective of the question.

Do you are asking for a purpose of nagualism in diary life or any relation between temazcal and nagualism?

I do not think Nagualism fits in the “human” concept of evolution, besides that we humans are the ones who have to evolve (in the wide sense) first to understand what Nagualism or the Red Path is and then perhaps we will be able to go beyond that.

Where are you from Quetzal? Could you please tell us a little bit of your background please?

    Thanks

I believe that Quetzal is asking about how nagualism evolved to modern culture as much as temazcal has…I wouldn’t have many good examples of the evolution of nagualism, but I’m sure that having a forum on the Internet and having people sharing concepts openly, regardless of cultures and nationalities could be a good start for thinking about evolution of nagualism…By reading the early Castaneda one can also think that many of the things the ” old timers” could actually perform, are things that some how aren’t the best way to make things happen for the naguals of today…

But in any case we are then talking about the evolution of the ways to teach Nagualism right? according to the times, not an evolution of the Nagualism per se. I think the principles (and I mean the principles) of this path go beyond time, right?

    Hi Chipola,

Maybe I didn’t word it correctly.

The General Idea I have of a Nagual is that they are off in the Jungles and rarely surface this is based on our past.
Now that we have cities and jobs wife’s or husbands Children etc.. How does nagualism affect us or benefit us how does it fit into our lives today?

    Yes Juan Carlos,
Nagualism is perfect the way it is, It does not need to evolve, it has no growth or shrinkage it is not limited by time or mesure.
my question is more on how do we apply it today? Mordern time.

The evolution is a INDIVIDUAL Chance, not plural, ethnic or racial chance , at first time at least.

    Hi Chipola,
I didn’t mean to make a connection with the Temezcal and Nagualism it was just an example.

Maybe Quetzal the problem is the Temazcal and Nagualism are different Tools of the same box. Each have a place, you cant remove easily a philips screw (tornillo) with a hammer.

Well, actually the real challenge is exactly at the place you are… you do not need to retreat yourself to apply Nagualism in your life, Alfonso told me one day that it is good to make some retreat from time to time if you actually want to do that, but you should come back to your world. You just have to be clear in what you want and what you are doing… Nagualism in modern life is totally possible, it is just a matter of doing what is right even if you are in the jungle or in the city.

Maybe Quetzal, you need check some of Karma Yoga in Google.

The problem in the real Nagualism, is PERMANENT retreat of the world , is not allowed. You was born in one place for one reason.

In terms of ceremonial magic (Golden Dawn ety al): Is more difficult the use of earth, water and air magic in cities, only the Fire magic functions witghout extra obstacles. You can try to sell ice in South Pole, but is a Wrong beginning.

    Hi Nagual,
I think I understand what your saying, But I didn’t understand the “You can try to sell ice in South Pole, but is a Wrong beginning.”
Can you explain that in lamest terms?
    Thank you

City is not for the wolf. Is for the man.
City is not for the Jaguar. Is for the man.

Forest is not for the Man, is for the wolf.
Jungle is not for the Man, is for the jaguar.

If you try to sell Ice in The south pole, no much people need it. Some people try to do that.

    The solution is the Hybrid.

As a man you can do some things, use a computer, as a wolf, not.

As a wolf you can run quickly. In a city, a man can use a vehicle.

If u use a vehicle in the forrest, can not climb trees WITH THE VEHICLE.

    Hi Chipola,
I think what your saying is that using Nagualism and Temezcal together is like an Oxymoron.
If thats what you mean then I understand.

Whats the meaning of “if thats”? maybe is a stuff such slang or something like that.

  18. Jorge Nu dice:

    Chipola,
senifica “si eso” “if that’s” or “if that is” es lo mismo but in Short it’s not slang its Proper.

  19. TATANKA dice:

Chipola, I think Quetzal´s English is fine. ¨If that´s¨ means ¨si es eso¨ in free translation he says:

¨Si es eso lo que quieres decir, entonces lo entiendo¨

He´s being polite, and a lot of English speakers make mistakes just as we do in Spanish.
